Are you interested in being an Umpire for Newmarket Baseball for the 2015 Season?
All those wishing to umpire with Newmarket Baseball for the 2015 season must be ObA certified and recertify every year.
As a reminder the Level 1 certification is a 2 year program and the Level 2 certification is a 3 year program. Level 3s must write an exam every year to re-certify.
New for 2015 - All NEW umpires must attend and pass an OBA Level 1 Umpire certification Clinic to be an umpire for Newmarket Baseball Association
Good News!! Newmarket Baseball is hosting 2 OBA umpire Certification clinics
Level 1 - Sunday March 29th at Denne Public School, 9am to 4pm - $25.00
You should attend this clinic:
*if in 2014 you were a Houseleague umpire or a first year Level 1
*if you are born in 2003 or earlier and would like to be an umpire with Newmarket Baseball for 2015.
Note: 12 and 13 year olds (first year) umpires will only umpire Rookie Houseleague ball for 2015 and will be required to attend to attend an additional Rookie Ball workshop in the spring (no cost). Dates to be determined.
Level 2 - Sunday April 12th at Denne Public School - $45.00
You should attend this clinic:
*if in 2014 you were a 2nd year Level 1 or a first or second year Level 2
Level 3 - You must take an online exam. See the Baseball Ontario website for details.
Exam is available in March.
You should write this online exam:
*if in 2014 you were a 3rd year Level 2 or already a Level 3 umpire.
If these dates don't work with your schedule please register for another clinic ASAP. The NBA clinics will be posted on the Baseball Ontario website early next week. You need to register for all clinics through the Baseball Ontario website. If you are a new umpire you will need to create a profile.
