The Newmarket Baseball Association is excited to host the 2nd annual Civic Weekend Showdown, running July 31–August 2, 2026!

Back for its second year, the Civic Weekend Showdown has quickly become a highlight on the summer baseball calendar — offering high-level play, great facilities, and a fun, competitive atmosphere as teams gear up for OBA season.

This year’s event will feature 12U AAA and, new for 2026, a 12U AA/A division. All teams are guaranteed three games, with championship rounds to crown the next Civic Weekend champions.

Games will begin as early as Friday at 11:00 AM, making for a full weekend of baseball excitement and competitive matchups.

If you’re looking for the perfect tune-up before the OBAs, Newmarket is the place to be!

Tournament Details:
● Dates: July 31–August 2, 2026
● Divisions: 12U AAA and 12U AA/A (new for 2026)
● Format: 3-game minimum with championship rounds
● Start Time: Friday, 11:00 AM
● Entry Fee: $625
● Team Limit: 12 teams max

Concussion Awareness


Under Rowan's Law, before any players can be registered with the local association and Baseball Ontario, the player, and the parent or legal guardian of the player if the player is under 18 years of age, must review one of the Concussion Education Resources provided by the Province of Ontario.  Links to thisresource is provided here and will open in a separate window:

  All participants have read the Rowan's Law Concussion Report.

 Liability Release and Consent Form  
In consideration of the acceptance of my application for the 12U Civic Weekend Showdown Tournament, I hereby waive, release, and discharge any and all claims for damages for personal injury, property damages or which may hereafter occur to me as a result of participation in said event. This release is intended to discharge in advance Newmarket Baseball Association, its officials, officers, employees, volunteers and agents from liability, even though that liability may arise out of perceived negligence on the part of persons mentioned above. It is understood that some recreational activities involve an element of risk or danger of accidents, and knowing those risks, I hereby assume those risks. It is further understood and agreed that this waiver, release and assumption of risk is to be binding on my heirs and assignees. I give consent for the players on my team to participate in the event activities, and I execute the above liability release on their behalf.


Consent for Treatment
I hereby give my consent to have the above applicants treated by emergency medical personnel, a physician, or surgeon, in case of sudden illness or injury while participating in the activity. It is understood that Newmarket Baseball Association will provide no medial insurance for such treatment, and that the cost thereof will be at my expense. I have read and understood the above consent form, and agree to all of its terms and conditions.  

Privacy Policy

The information requested on this form is required by the Newmarket Baseball Association, and the Ontario Baseball Association (their respective executives, employees, coaches, umpires and volunteers) for registration purposes and to administer the rules and regulations of the OBA and NBA and to provide notification of any upcoming events or activities.  In order to do so, the NBA may, if required, request proof of a players’ identity, address and date of birth.

Refund Policy

Please contact Newmarket Baseball at admin@newmarket baseball.com if your team is unable to attend the tournament.  Requests for refunds will be reviewed by the tournament comittee and are not guaranteed.
