Rookie Hawks AA Take Silver in Halton Hills!!

The Newmarket Rookie Hawks soared to the Silver Medal at the competitive Halton Hills Rookie Tournament July 15-17.  Scoring an impressive 64 runs through the first three games of round robin play the Hawks’ booming bats collected wins over Chatham, Brampton and Mississauga South to go 3-0 and secure the #2 seed for playoff action.

The semi-final game against Riverside Royals was a hard fought affair with the Hawks showing great perseverance in fighting back from an early deficit and culminating with a 2 run seventh inning 7-6 walk–off victory.

The final game saw the Hawks demonstrate again great effort and character in dropping the Final Game to London.   It was a great weekend of Hawks baseball and Andy, Hunter, Josh, Mason, Ben , Hank, Trevor, Owen, Nathan, Evan, Damon, and Sam should be proud of the outcome and especially the way they carried themselves throughout the tournament.
