Spotlight Theatre represented Newmarket at the recent SOBA Intact provincial championships. It was a hard fought battle throughout the tournament in rainy wet conditions over 3 days.
Spotlight theatre won their division to make it to the semi finals where they won a hard fought battle 5-4 with the winning run coming in the top of the 5th and final inning. Spotlight used great pitching and timely defence to win the game in the bottom of the 5th to move on to the finals.
With the rain letting up and sun coming out Newmarket battled the Brampton Angels in the final. With runs early in the game Newmarket was able to hold off the Brampton Angels for a 13-3 win and the SOBA Championship
