The Mosquito AAA Hawks brought everything they had to the first of it's find Mega Tournament OBA Qualifier in Brampton this past weekend.
As a pilot program, the OBA invited all 22 AAA teams in Ontario to battle it out until 8 teams remained. Those 8 will then play in the OBA Finals in Windsor on Labour Day Weekend.
The Hawks started off with a tough draw, playing the #1 ranked Hamilton Cardinals. Thanks to stellar pitching by Nathan Duchaine and Damon Crozier, along with two Triples from Ben MacLean and a clutch single from Paul Verman the Hawks became the talk of the tournament by walking off the Cardinals in dramatic fashion.
With outstanding pitching by Josh Hewson, Mason Carey, Paul Verman and Andy Kobryn, The Hawks went on to beat the Mississauga Majors and the Etobicoke Rangers to qualify for the OBA Finals on the Long weekend.
The Coaching Staff are incredibly proud of the effort these boys put up in this tournament. The Hawks would like to thank our amazing Parents and everyone who supported them on their journey so far...more to come!
