15U House League Select Team Information and Tryout Date

We're excited to share that for the 3rd consecutive year we will be holding try-outs for a 15U House League Select Team. For the past 2 seasons, Newmarket has hosted a Labour Day Weekend Tournament for the Ontario Baseball House League Select Championships. By hosting we got to enter a team of our best players at the 15U level… basically, a 15U All-Star team! This year we are excited to announce we are expanding on that program!

The 2024 15U House League Select team will play in an additional tournament and begin practicing weekly from the start of the season! This exciting opportunity offers an enhanced level of competition, providing your child with an enriching baseball experience tailored for those who can't get enough baseball!

Here's what you need to know:

• The 15U House League Select program will focus on fun, teamwork, and skill development, offering players a step up in competitive play. Participants will also continue playing with their regular 15U House League teams throughout the season.
• The team will play in 2 tournaments: Mississauga July 19-21 (guaranteed 3 games) and will play in and host the Ontario House League Championships Labour Day weekend August 30 - September 1
• Save the date: Tryouts are set for Wednesday, May 22, from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm at the Whipper Watson Diamond. In case of inclement weather, we have an alternate diamond booked for Friday, May 24.
• To participate, there's a $30 tryout fee, and pre-registration is required.  CLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR TRYOUTS 
• Friday afternoon and evening practices are scheduled May-August to strengthen team cohesion and skills.
• Commitment: We require full commitment from players and families, ensuring attendance at practices and tournaments. Long weekends are excluded from scheduling. Players must also continue playing on their House League teams.
• Player Fees: A player fee covering tournament fees, uniforms, practice time, and team supplies will be announced. Payment will be due within 48 hours of team selection.
• Sponsor: We are currently looking for a team sponsor ... please reach out if you are interested!

If your child is interested in trying out we will be hosting an optional Microsoft Teams Q&A Meeting on Wednesday, May 1st at 8:30 pm for parents and players who have questions about trying out or helping coach this team. While attendance is not mandatory, I invite you to join me to learn more and ask any questions you may have.
