LAST CHANCE! Nominate a player, coach, volunteer now!! Deadline is tonight

Nominations will soon be accepted to recognize 2018 Newmarket Baseball Association TEAMS, INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS, COACHES, and VOLUNTEERS at the HOUSE LEAGUE, SELECT, and REP/ELITE levels that will be awarded at the NBA Annual General Meeting on Oct. 17, 2018.  The nomination period is open from Sept. 10-25.

The Newmarket Baseball Association (NBA) would like to once again proudly recognize outstanding individuals and teams at the House League, Select and Rep/Elite levels.  Award winners for the 2018 season will be honoured at the NBA Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 17.  Please click these links for the award recipients from the past two years: 2016 Honourees and 2017 Honourees.   

The nomination period is open from Sept. 10 through Sept. 25. While awards will not be announced until the AGM on Oct. 17, winners in each category will be forwarded as the NBA nominees for the York Simcoe Baseball Association Awards (YSBA) by the YSBA’s Sept. 30 deadline.  YSBA Award winners then get forwarded to Baseball Ontario as the YSBA nominees for the OBA’s annual awards.

To nominate an individual or team for one of the award categories listed below:
 

1. From now through Sept. 10, start thinking about who you would like to nominate and why
2. Starting Sept. 10, access the YSBA Nomination Forms located on their home page at http://www.yorksimcoebaseball.com/.
3. Complete the corresponding YSBA Nomination Form (based on category).
4. Using the subject line of “2018 NBA Awards Nomination,” email your completed nomination form to the NBA c/o vpfinance@newmarketbaseball.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
5. Only individuals and teams officially nominated will be considered using the YSBA nomination forms and received by the Sept. 25 deadline will be considered.  If no nominations are received in a given category, then no award will be given in that category.

NBA FRANK HOLLINGSWORTH MEMORIAL AWARDS (email nomination; no form required)
For these special NBA Awards, all players in Mosquito, Peewee, and Bantam (house league/select/rep/elite) are eligible.  Please email your nomination to vpfinance@newmarketbaseball.com with an answer to this question (no YSBA form required):  How does your nominee exemplify the attributes most admired by Frank, namely good sportsmanship, dedication to the team and the game of baseball, and perseverance irrespective of natural ability? Please include the player’s name, division, and team as well as your name, contact information, and relationship to the nominee.

NBA WES GREEN EXCELLENCE IN UMPIRE AWARDS (selected by NBA)
These special awards, at the Junior, Intermediate, and Senior levels, will be selected by the NBA Vice-President of Rules of Play & Umpiring in consultation with the NBA executive management committee.
